Membership registration 

Join the Law Society to access a wide range of benefits including support, discounts on CPD and events, and member only savings. Membership for lawyers in their first two years of practice is complimentary. You can learn more about member benefits for the membership year on our website.

The membership year is from 1 July to 30 June.

Are you interested in joining a Section? Sections provide support and resources tailored to their members. Law Society membership includes membership to one Section.

​​Section rules and eligibility criteria apply. You can choose to join multiple Sections. The first Section membership is included in your Law Society membership subscription. Membership of each additional section is $100 +GST.

We collect and hold information in accordance with the Law Society’s information handling policy.

The Find a Lawyer search is distinct from the public register and returns lawyer members who provide services to the public. In-house lawyers are automatically withheld from the search tool.
